A British friend once told me that a trouble shared is a trouble halved. I liked that. Logically, that must mean that good news shared is good news doubled!?
Here’s our Very Good News:
Santa Barbara DANCEworks received a $20,000 NEA award in support of our 2016 residency. We are most grateful and honored to have been selected. NEA Chairman Jane Chu said, ” The NEA is committed to advancing learning, fueling creativity and celebrating the arts in cities and towns across the U.S. Funding these new projects like the one from DANCEworks represents an investment in both local communities and our nation’s creative vitality.”
That’s a great statement of support for us. The NEA grant helps us to fulfill our mission of providing American choreographers a significant of amount of time and space to create new work. This will be the sixth consecutive year that DANCEworks has received NEA support.
Halleluyah for the NEA!
